Family of First in My Family to Go to College
Family of First in My Family to Go to CollegeAs an essay being the first in my family to go to college, I am so excited about it. Like most, I did not know exactly where to start. However, I made the decision to go to school immediately after high school graduation. As a child of the 80's, I realized that college was not going to be an option for me.I would have loved to have been able to go to college, but we had just lost my father from a long illness, and my mother took care of the home. By the time that I started my freshman year of college, I realized that I did not have any plans to attend school. However, as soon as I took the SAT or ACT scores, I knew that I wanted to do well on the exams. My family urged me to apply to a college immediately after graduation, but I still waited a year before I tried to go to college. I had heard that having an essay as the first in your family to go to college is very special. I knew that having a well-written essay would give me a chance to s hine. The good news is that I did not have to wait very long before I could get an application in the mail. Of course, when I received the letters of acceptance, I felt great. As I continued to receive those letters, I started to gain confidence that I could get accepted into one of the great schools in the country.Although I am now very excited about being the first in my family to go to college, I also feel the pressure of meeting many people who are going there. I want to prove that I am deserving of going to college. I want to prove that I am the first in my family to go to college. As I continue to work on my essays, I am also learning about the various college essay topics. While I will not be making as many writing errors as some of my friends, I will definitely have a lot more time to prepare. I will be the first in my family to go to college, and I want to prove that.It is a great feeling to see everyone on campus and realize that you are the first in your family to go to col lege. Although it is nice to know that you are going to college, it is also nice to know that you are going to be around a lot of friends. The family bond that I have been trying to build will be stronger if I have an even bigger support group to go to school with.College is a big commitment. Not only are you leaving behind your friends and your family, but you are also leaving behind your childhood. A college education will be a stepping stone to a new chapter in your life, and being the first in your family to go to college is just another opportunity to experience the independence that I am always looking for.
